Well, it's time for an update.  First I would like to welcome our new coders Gilad and Marco.  It's great to have you on the team!  Secondly, Project Mayhem is moving along quickly with advances in CD-Rom emulation, GTE, and MDECs.  In the next couple days I will post some more demo pics, so stay tuned.  Remember to keep checking back, I have confidence that pretty soon the pics will not be from demos :)...       It has been a long time since the last post :(.  Project Mayhem is dead.  JUST KIDDING!!!! :).  Proj. Mayhem is alive and kicking!!!  And we need some bloody coders, so if you know how to code in C, C++, or assembly and want to help code a great emu, drop me a line at hicksjd9@juniata.edu we would love to hear from you.  A lot of great things have been happening with the emu, it plays quite a few demos now, and cd implementation is coming soon, that means commercial games can't be too far behind.  Just to whet your appetite we have a few screenshots for your viewing pleasure.  Here you go, enjoy:)!

Whew!  It's been a busy semester!  Sorry for the lack of updates.  This will change as soon as the semester ends.  I have received some e-mals from people wondering if emusquared and project mayhem are still alive.  The answer to that is a resounding YES!   Very interesting things are happening with project mayhem!  Stay tuned to emusquared for info and updates on the project in the very near future!  Also, a new version of epsxe should be out soon and we will update accordingly when that happens.

Right now, hairy budda (one of the programmers for project mayhem is working on a vrml website for emusquared and that should be up sometime in the future.  As well, I am trying to create a new design for the site so if you have any ideas or suggestions, drop me a line.  btw, the next site update will come much sooner than this one did:-).

One more thing, i haven't had the chance to talk to the team about choosing the contest winner for the logo.  However, i was sick of my horrible project mayem logos so i randomly picked one of the impressive logos entered in the contest (this logo was made by MStow) on the proj. mayhem page.  I hope this does not upset anyone who entered the contest, and i will try to rotate them until the team chooses the logo they like best.

As you may have noticed, many of the pics in the Psx compatibility section were not working.  That problem has now been fixed in the epsxe section for letters A to H (it will soon be up and running entirely).  I highly recommend checking it out as it ROCKS!  A special thanks to Zanteroth for the many pics and his upkeep on the site.

The compatibility list features many games running with four of the most popular plug-ins: Pete's Software, Pete's D3D, Petes OpenGL, and the Impact D3D plug-in.  For comparison, all pics are thumbnailed and can be viewed full screen.  So, if you would like to know if your favorite game is running on epsxe or want to see which plug-in will play it best, make emusquared your first stop:-).  Also, a section for voodoo users is on its way (that means a guide for lewpy's plug-ins :)).

     Proj. Mayhem is now underway!:-)!

Also, the contest page is up and the logos we have recieved to date are posted.  Remember, winning this contest is your ticket to being a beta tester.  along with the contest page, we are creating a development resource page and i am hoping that this will be helpful to all those who are learning to code an emulator.

I have been working on the faq section for "dummies" today and have gotten the page ready and two faqs prepared.  The first is a general emulation faq and the second is specific to epsxe.  Please check out this new section and if you have any feedback, suggestions, or want to add a question you would like to be answered please send them to my e-mail address (its hyperlinked to my name)  or post them in the forum.  By the way, if you have any questions at all or just get bored, post something in the forum.  I would really like to see it get rolling:-).  Also, don't forget emusquared's chat!  You can find some really interesting people in there.

Just wanted to mention that proj. mayhem is moving along very well but we could still use some more talented coders, so if you want your name on the docket drop me a line.

As you may have seen, the logo for Project Mayhem sucks (I'm not much of an artist) so those of us at emusquared would like to sponser a contest to see who can make the best logo for project mayhem.   We will post the best pics that are submitted on a special contest page to be seen by everyone!
The winner of this contest will automatically become a beta tester for Project Mayhem and we will get to use the logo:-). I think this will be a great way to get the emulation community involved in the project.  If you would like to enter please send your logo or design to collegebound48@hotmail.com . As of today, you have exactly one month to submit your logos to emusquared.  We ask that you please use jpeg format for your designs and respond with your e-mail address in the subject area of your submition.  Thank you, and good luck with your designs!!!!

Zanteroth has been at it again and has added 130 more pictures from 34 games to his psx emulator compatibility list!!!  (this guy is amazing!)  As far as I know Emusquared is the only site offering pics of each compatible game and what plug-in they work with in epsxe (with more emulators to follow).  This is a must see!   Please check it out by clicking on the link above or in the site navigator bar to the left.

Today the site has undergone reconstruction, as you can see by the new homepage:-).  Hopefully this will make the site a little easier to navigate and put you closer to the new

On a personal note, I want to thank everyone for the excitement and energy they are putting into this site.  It's people like you that make the emulation community one of the strongest and fastest growing on the net.

First and foremost, I want to express my thanks to zanteroth for his work on the psx emulator compatibility list.  As you may have seen, it is up and you can reach it in the site navigator or by clicking above.  This is a fantastic page (though still under construction) with actual pics of the games that are running on each of today's most popular emulators (epsxe, psemupro, pcsx, and adripsx).  For epsxe and psemupro, it even documents what plug-ins were used.  As of now, it features pete's plug-ins, but it is soon to cover lewpy's glide for all of you 3dfx users.

I want to also mention that the site now features chat, which will greatly help Proj. Mayhem to get underway.

First of all, i would like to thank all of you who have been frequenting the site and i apolologize for the lack of updates (lots of exams this week).  We have received a flood of emails about project mayhem and for all who may be wondering, we will begin the emulation process soon.

As of now we have 11 coders that will be working on project mayhem.  In a few days i will  post a list of their nicks so that the emulation community can get to know them and the function they will play in the emulation process.

In site news, we are soon to get chat and a new message board as i received a few emails telling me that it wasn't working.  Also, Zanteroth is working on the compatibility and plug-in section of the site and it should be up within the next few days!!

These are exciting times for emusquared and the emulation community and we are looking forward to bringing you an amazing playstation emulator in the months to come!!!

Emusquared is coming along very nicely.  We are soon to have our own domain thanks to the help of MStow101.  It is appreciated.  Anyway alot has been happening today!  First of all our forum is up, and I welcome you to post your impressions of this up and coming site or Proj. Mayhem.  Secondly, the downloads section is beginning to form and I have a nice zip of all the recent plugins for Psemupro & Epsxe (should cut down on searching time).  Also, Pec version 1.2 was released today by Jens Duttke at the Pec Homepage which has support for epsxe and also updated a few others.  If you don't know, Pec works like a Gameshark for PSX emulators (VERY NICE).  You can download these by clicking on the links in this article, or in the downloads section.

Well this is our first official news post. :-)  We're looking forward to what we can do for the emulation community, and we are especially hopeful about project mayhem.  I posted the emusquared site today at a few established emulation sites and am hoping for a response.  It may not be long until a new psx emulator steps onto the scene!

In other news the adripsx page was updated today.  There was a new release promised some time ago, but the author, Roor, has  been busy with some other projects.  This emulator looks to be extremely promising.  You can click here to check out pics of the upcoming emulator on Roor's homepage.  I have to say, I was just looking at them and they're nothing short of amazing!!  Cheers to Roor for his hard work and we hope to see a release soon!
